Welcome NEFASTUS DIES to Deepsend Records!! |
 |
 |
10.30.05 |
|
Canadas scathing black metal entity Nefastus Dies has officially joined Deepsend Records. Featuring former members of Trails of Anguish and Unquintessence, following their impressive promotional effort , 'Prelude', lta multii-laum worldwide deal was inked. The as of yet untitled effort will be tracked at the end of 2005 and will be recorded by now legendary producer Yannick St-Amand (Despised Icon, Ion Dissonance, Neuraxis) at an undetermined location. The band is looking to hit the road this Spring to decimate US soil in support of their debut album. If you can help book the tour or can get the band some dates, please contact the band at: management@nefastusdies.com for all other related info: www.nefastusdies.com to hear 2 demos from their promo 'Prelude. Nefastus Dies officially took form in March 2002 when former members Void and Betrayal met drummer Tommy Mckinnon, bassist Auriel and finally keyboardist Iraabbas. It's at this precise moment that the band started composing as a whole and hence the primal conceptual direction was born. The band mainly focused for three years in creating new songs and doing shows when the opportunity presented itself. At that time there was enough material to record two full length albums and they started gaining live experience on various occasions. Unfortunately, drummer Tommy Mckinnon was then asked to leave for personal reasons. Scythrawl (ex Trails of Anguish/Unquintessence) was afterward contacted to take over the drumming duties. This marked a significant turning point for the bands new direction. After lots of discussions the band agreed that drastics changes would have to be applied to the overall sound, concept and imagery. Most songs we're butchered then restructured in a more vicious and agressive overall manner. The concept was also rebuilt from scratch. Betrayal dropped vocal duties and focused only on guitars. We then contacted ex Trails of Anguish live bassist, Ill-fate to come fill in the vocal works |

Welcome INFANTICIDE to Deepsend Records!! |
 |
 |
10.30.05 |
|
Swedens crust-inspired grind core act Infanticide has officially joined the Deepsend Records roster. The band focuses on playing fast and intense with their main influence being older Napalm Death, though it is clear that Rotten Sound, Nasum and FaceDownInShit all play a pivotal role in the musicianship. The bands yet to be titled debut full length album is due to be tracked near the end of 2005, with a hopeful release next spring. To check out some demos or for any additional information about the band, check out: www.myspace.com/infanticideterrorunit
Infanticide was formed autumn 2002 by Kristoffer Lövgren om drums, Simon Frid on bass & vocals and Johan Malm on guitar. We thougt, ah, what the fuck, let's try. At the first rehearsals we played mostly standard "Swedish" crust, but soon we decided to go for a faster approach, with Napalm Death as the biggest inspiration. Infanticide has never been about playing technical music and trying to fit as many chords as possible in every riff and playing in strange 1265/876 measures, just playing fast and intensive music and having a good time. The first demo was recorded Jan. 2003 in Overlook studio, our first time ever in a real studio. Following the recording of the demo we played our first show, in the same building as our rehearsal and the studio. This was in April 2003 and the show was pretty catastrophic but I'm not sure anyone noticed. During the summer we played a few shows in the Gävle/Sandviken area and we concentrated on writing songs for a second demo. The second demo, called Global Death Sentence, was recorded in November 2003 in the same studio and received mostly good reviews. This demo was later released by Yellow Dog Records as a 7" called Lunacy. During the winter of 2005 Olle joined the band on bass, letting Simon concentrate on singing only. We recently recorded a new album entitled We Are The Enemy which will be released as a 10" and CD by Yellow Dog later this year. |

SYL vinyl update |

05.14.05 |
|
As many of you know, our paypal account has been down for a couple of days. Not very convenient considering we announced pre-order for SYL "Alien" not 4 days ago, totally oblivious to paypal not working. Anyhow, we have been assured that by wednesday of this coming week, paypal will be up and running again and we can accept your pre-orders for this amazing record. On a similiar note, we have had to drastically alter this release, but bear in mind it is all for the better. Here are the details:
1) The record will now be a Double 10" LP. Due to not knowing the length per side of a standard LP before sending all the parts to the manufacturing plant, the record will now be a Double 10" LP. Unfortunately given the fact that an extra LP costs considerably more and the fact that it adds weight for shipping, the price will now be $20 for US orders and $26 for World.
2) The record jackets will now be glossy finished as opposed to the standard cardstock.
3) The vinyl will now be 180 gram (give or take we are told) |

Deepsend Records to release vinyl of Strapping Young Lad "Alien"
Hot on the heels of Deepsend Records signing an exclusive distribution deal with CM Distro (a Division of Century Media), the label has also secured the licensing rights to press all future Century Media releases on vinyl. The label will start this vinyl deal off with a limited edition pressing of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD "Alien" on gatefold LP and later will issue Dark Tranquillity "Character" on LP format as well.
All vinyl will be extremely limited to a special one-time only pressing of 500 copies all hand-numbered to commemorate the first time ever that these bands have had a release on vinyl format, including Strapping Young Lad. The label has already started taking Pre-Orders for Strapping Young Lad via mailorder (webstore Pre-Orders will begin next week) as the plan is to have this record out in mid June in time for SYL's slot on the Sounds of the Underground Tour featuring Lamb of God, Opeth, Gwar, Killswitch Engage etc. It has also been announced that the "Alien" LP will be issued in 2 different colors of vinyl (all vinyl licenses will have 2 distinct vinyl colors as well). The first 300 orders of "Alien" will receive green vinyl while the rest of the press will be issued on blue.
Please be aware that this record has already received more interest than we could ever imagine and will definitely sellout before its official release date in mid June. Deepsend has decided to start pre-ordering early to give all fans worldwide an equal opportunity to own this gem (arguably the best of the band's career), since fans overseas deserve just as much chance as those stateside. To Pre-Order Strapping Young Lad "Alien" LP click and spread the word to SYL fans worldwide!!
More vinyl announcements as they come in. We'll have a special vinyl Pre-Order section on the site in about a week's time. Keep your eyes peeled. |

Oblomov sign to Deepsend!! |
 |
 |
04.09.05 |
|
We're proud to announce the addition of yet another international act to our evergrowing roster. Hailing from Czech Republic, please welcome Oblomov.
Science and metal aren't exactly the most cohesive forces in terms of characteristics, nor would you expect to hear either used in the same sentence, let alone the same spellbinding album. Not since Vintersorg has science, namely astronomy and metal adhered to each other as seamlessly as with Oblomov. The lyrical content merges these two juggernauts together, although Oblomov have opted for an avant-garde mixture or black and death metal for their weapon of choice. This formula often lulls the listener with its moments of grace while still displaying its fair share of utter chaos along the way. Although Oblomov's arsenal is backed by drum machine battery, its attack is as explosive as the pioneers of the technique; Anaal Nathrakh.
The band's new opus entitled, Mighty Cosmic Dances will be unleashed this summer worldwide by Deepsend Records and distributed by CM Distro. This new amalgamation contains nine songs including two short segues used as an intro and outro respectively. The music of Oblomov is both eclectic and brilliant with lyrics partially inspired by the works of sci-fi heroes Isaac Asimov and Robert Silverberg as well as Thomas S. Kuhn and his work with the scientific revolution. |

Deepsend Records is proud to announce that the label has signed an exclusive distribution deal with metal giant Century Media. The deal covers North and South America, as well as Canada. MANGLED sign to Deepsend Records!! |
 |
 |
01.12.05 |
|
Deepsend Records is proud to announce the signing of the Netherland's MANGLED for the release of their third studio album, "Witness Disposal Program." Recorded throughout June and July by the guitar player Erwin Hermsen @ Tone Shed Studio. The new abhorrence features twelve paralyzing hymns of blistering death metal that are sure to punish the will of humanity while forging a path of total annihilation along the way. With a new punchy and aggressive vocal approach, MANGLED are poised to become a noteworthy adversary to the death metal throne currently held by such acts as; Hate Eternal, Suffocation, Decrepit Birth, and Deeds of Flesh just to name a few.
Mangled was formed in 1989, released two well received demos shortly thereafter ('Cadaverous' in '92 and 'Perish' in '93). In 1997 Wild Rags signed the band and went on to release Mangled's debut MCD 'In Emptiness.' In 1998 the band signed to Fadeless Records for the release of 'Ancient Times' which comprised all of their earlier material on CD format. 2000 marked a crucial turning point for Mangled as they signed to The Plague, a subsidiary of Hammerheart Records (now Karmageddon Media), for the release of their critically acclaimed 'Most Painful Ways' album which was released the following year in 2001. The band followed-up this release with extensive touring and in 2003 participated in the Violating Europe Tour which featured Vile, Spawn of Possession, Inhume, and Disavowed to great media/press. 2003 marked the release of 'Carnal Abhorrence' which was released by Fadeless Records on 7" format which featured two new songs as well as covers of Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse.
2005 marks the sixteenth anniversary of Mangled's existence as well as their signing to US based Deepsend Records for the release of 'Witness Disposal Program,' the band's most complete and virulent opus to date. With the help of the labe's worldwide exclusive distribution deal with Century Media, Mangled will once and for all garner the adoration they so rightfully deserve.

VLE signs to Deepsend Records!! |

NY's VLE has officially signed to DEEPSEND RECORDS for the release of their next currently untitled record. Tracking for the effort will take place at the artist's home base throughout the New Year and commence in March for a release shortly thereafter. The label will also rerelease their critically acclaimed 'The Book of Illusions: Chapters 1,2,3' together as a double disc sometime in late 2005. We are currently seeking a talented landscape artist that can capture the mood and atmosphere that VLE exerts with their stunning music as seen on 'The Book of Illusions' releases. All interested candidates send an email to: deepsend@deepsend.com
VLE is a solo project based in New York City which started in July 2001. Inspired by ocean sunsets, darkness and silence... VLE has created improvised expressive minimalist soundscapes that serve to evoke different emotions. VLE is a journey through timeless motifs and cosmic spheres of existence. The sound of VLE is raw and emotional as all pieces were constructed without use of programming or traditional composition style. The music of VLE is very eclectic as each piece represents the different moods we all experience in this life. This is music from the soul... music erected from the subconscious. And if you are open to other states of consciousness, you too shall learn. VLE invites you to experience the deepest realms of darkness and beauty.
Works created through strict use of experimentation and improvisational techniques... the most important element is the depiction of atmosphere where all instruments/sounds fuse together. Noise, chaos, infinity, beauty, darkness, light, pain, harmony, melancholy, rhythm, power, melody, repetition, dissonance and duality are all concepts expressed herein...
